Conflict Management

Conflict is inevitable. However, the results of conflict are not predetermined. Conflict might escalate and lead to non-productive results, or conflict can be beneficially Conflict Managementresolved and lead to a better situation. Therefore, learning to manage conflict is integral to a high-performance team.

While few people go looking for conflict, more often than not, conflict results because of miscommunication between people with regards to their needs, ideas, beliefs, goals, or values. Conflict management is the principle that while all conflicts cannot necessarily be resolved, learning how to manage conflicts can decrease the odds of non-productive escalation.

We run a wide range of workshops using the SDI® – Strength Deployment Inventory Tool® developed in the USA by Dr. Elias H. Porter. Based around recognizing our motivational value system, which will tend to stay fixed even though our beliefs, values, behaviors may well change over time. We have used it successfully in team development, motivation training and also in conflict resolution.  The SDI is completed by answering specific questions situationally to know how you respond when things are going good versus going wrong.
