As an experienced leadership development consultant, Cathy is known for her ability to create understanding and tolerance between cross-cultural teams. Cathy impacts a range of businesses through workshop facilitation and consulting on a variety of topics including leadership development, performance management, high performing teams, handling difficult conversations, problem solving and decision-making, influencing skills, Emotional Intelligence, innovation and creativity, coaching, presentation skills, dealing with conflict, interviewing skills, assertiveness skills, leading remote teams, influencing without authority and employee engagement.
Prior to entering the field of facilitation and organizational development, Cathy was head of the marketing department at Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL), a leading business-to-business media company. During her tenure in this role she focused on attracting and delivering volume buyers from around the world to qualified suppliers in Greater China. She coached highly effective teams while gaining experience in ecommerce, project management, IT and publishing. Most notably, Cathy led a change initiative to create greater understanding between business practitioners and IT personnel, significantly improving their ability to work together effectively and contribute to the business at a higher level.
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Keenan-Flagler Business School of UNC Chapel Hill. She is a Certified Professional Coach (New Ventures West), a Certified Leadership Transition Coach (Fischer Group International), a member of the International Coach Federation and has studied Active Learning Coaching from Choon Seng Ng, Master Active Learning Coach. She is a member of the International Association of Facilitators, and in addition to BlessingWhite certifications, she has MBTI Step I and II and Firo-B accreditations, Thiagi Game Facilitation certification, and substantial experience implementing DISC™ personality profiling tools.
